Mount Kanamo Trek - Itinerary
Day 1
• Arrive in Kaza, the capital of Spiti Valley - Check into a hotel and rest for the day to acclimatize to the high altitude
Day 2
• Drive from Kaza to Kibber village, the starting point of the trek - Overnight at a Homestay in Kibber
Day 3
• Rest day at the base camp to acclimatize to the high altitude - Short hikes and exploration of the nearby area
Day 4
• Trek from the base camp to the summit camp (17,060 feet/5,200 meters) - The trail passes through rocky terrain and steep ridges - Overnight stay in tents at the summit camp
Day 5
• Early morning start for the summit push - Trek to the summit of Kanamo Peak (19,553 feet/5,944 meters) - Enjoy the panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan ranges - Descend back to the Homestay - Overnight stay in Homestay
Day 6
• Trek back to Kibber village - Drive back to Kaza - Relax and explore the town of Kaza - Overnight stay in a hotel
Day 7
• Depart from Kaza to your next destination

Sleeping Bag

Temperature Rating: Choose a sleeping bag with a temperature rating suitable for the expected weather conditions. In Spiti Valley, temperatures can drop to freezing levels even during summers, so a bag rated for sub-zero temperatures is recommended. 2. Weight and Size: Choose a sleeping bag that is lightweight and compact enough to carry easily on the trek. Down-filled sleeping bags are lightweight and packable, but they can be expensive. 3. Insulation Type: There are two types of insulation - down and synthetic. Down insulation is lightweight, compressible, and provides better warmth-to-weight ratio, but it is expensive and loses its insulation properties when wet. Synthetic insulation, on the other hand, is affordable, retains its insulation properties even when wet, but is heavier and less compressible than down. 5.
